You have the power to energize the Activities Board Technical Committee today!
The Activities Board Technical Committee, commonly known as AB Tech, is the organization charged with handling the technical production of university-sponsored events in Pittsburgh. We provide professional-grade entertainment production services, including sound reinforcement, lighting design and event management, at heavily subsidized rates to our campus community. From student groups and university faculty to various independent companies and student projects, we’re passionate about supporting the growth of our members as they contribute to Carnegie Mellon’s technical needs.
The AB Tech Gift Fund is the main funding source for social events that uphold our organization's community and morale. It is primarily funded through donations and improves quality-of-life initiatives within AB Tech. We hope to reach a goal of $4,000 to continue supporting future tech bonding activities such as post-event meals, seasonal retreats and group field trips, in addition to Tech merch for current techies (including T-shirts and jackets).
The Development Opportunity Fund (Endowed Gift Fund) covers 80% of the travel expenses for 3-4 highly involved members to attend LDI, an annual industry conference. LDI enriches and informs our equipment purchases, internal training curriculums and design decisions. We aim to reach a goal of $4,000, which is the approximate cost to cover travel expenses for one individual going to LDI. This money will only be used as a tech scholarship for individuals attending LDI or AES in future academic years to cover flight costs, the highest annual expense.
