CMU Business Technology Group specializes in applied technology that improves work, play and education for CMU’s college experience. Our mission is to provide undergraduates interested in technology, product management and product development with a strong understanding of potential career paths and offer them opportunities to gain hands-on experience in their areas of interest.
Our Product Studio emulates the full software development lifecycle, giving students an opportunity to experience how real-world teams operate, while our Product Management Academy is the only campus organization that offers undergraduate product management preparation. We also offer unique events like product hackathons and company visits, providing a well-rounded experience to students.
Big Tech Gathering is an innovative and impactful networking summit on November 16th open to tech companies and CMU students and faculty. Companies can showcase new products, highlight open positions and engage in open discussions with the CMU community. Previous speakers are from Amazon, Microsoft, Spotify and Uber.
ProdHacks is BTG’s product hackathon in mid-Spring, dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation for students in the Greater Pittsburgh Region interested in product ideation and management. It is CMU’s only week-long product hackathon with real-time mentorship from industry professionals.
