You have the power to energize Historical European Martial Arts today!
Historical European Martial Arts refers to the practice of fencing using traditional weapons and styles from Medieval Europe. These weapons include longsword, rapier, sword and buckler, messer, sabre, small sword and more. Members of the club also have the opportunity to learn the rich history of these weapons and the different styles that were developed in different areas of Europe in order to make efficient use of them. We encourage athletic/physical activity in the CMU community through the practice of these martial styles. The club is open to all, regardless of skill or experience level. We also encourage our members to compete in tournaments hosted by our club and others. We have recently helped to lead the creation of a Northeastern Intercollegiate HEMA League to facilitate this goal.
Your contributions to the HEMA Club Equipment and Events Fund allow us to provide our members with the equipment they need to safely participate in the sport of Historical Fencing and to travel to tournaments at other universities. Additionally, with the first large-scale tournament our team has hosted approaching rapidly, acquiring supplemental funding is paramount.
Thank you for your contribution to our mission. We cannot do this without you.
Giving CMU Day is your chance to illuminate the next bright idea in Historical European Martial Arts! 💡
