You have the power to energize the Tartan Wind Ensemble today!
Music performance is a significant part of many students' lives, particularly in high school. Once in college, it can be difficult to keep this up. Still, many students continue to seek out the community that is formed by bands. We seek to provide that.
Tartan Wind Ensemble is a non-audition community ensemble which welcomes members of all skill levels. We perform anything from standard repertoire to pop pieces. We aim to be high-performing but low-commitment, such that members are engaged but not stressed by their commitment to the ensemble. Currently, we hold twice-weekly two-hour rehearsals and host one concert per semester.
Our fundraising goal is $5,000 to cover the steep capital costs associated with instruments and sheet music. Our ensemble is among the younger music groups on campus, meaning we unfortunately lack instruments to lend. This hinders the accessibility of our group, particularly for people who play large instruments that they were unable to bring to college. We also have a small music library which we hope to expand so we could play a greater variety of pieces. We thank you for your contributions to our cause!
