The goal of this campaign is to support NOMAS CMU in continuing to be a safe and supportive space for minority architecture students while creating meaningful opportunities for professional exposure and growth. Funds raised will support a range of programming, including student participation in the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) Conference and a spring retreat that allows students to travel to major cities to visit architecture firms, architecture schools and experience diverse architectural contexts. Together, these opportunities help students build professional connections, explore different career paths and gain a clearer understanding of the field beyond the classroom.
Raised funds will be used to offset student costs related to travel, including airfare, ground transportation, lodging and conference registration fees. Funding will also support expenses associated with the spring retreat, such as transportation between cities, site visits to architecture firms and schools and other logistical costs that ensure students can participate fully regardless of financial barriers.
